Financial fairness
for the Muslim community

We're on a mission

To build a financial ecosystem delivering fair access,
long-term stability, and opportunity for Muslims in the U.S.A.
Without interest, extraction, or short-term thinking.

When members spend, save, and grow, value circulates
and unlocks greater opportunity for all.

Financial growth and ethical conviction can coexist.
Criterion proves it by realigning finance with principles.

Yasir Dowlatkhahi

Chief Executive Officer, Criterion

Yasir Dowlatkhahi is the founder of Criterion and a fintech operator focused on building long-term financial infrastructure rooted in faith, discipline, and transparency. With years of experience working across financial technology, product development, and regulated financial systems, he has led initiatives that bridge innovation with compliance, scalability, and real-world execution.

Criterion was born from a clear conviction: People of Abrahamic Faith, and anyone guided by principled values, should not have to compromise their beliefs to participate in modern banking. After witnessing how deeply the Western financial system is built on interest, hidden structures, and misaligned incentives, Yasir committed himself to building a viable alternative.

He is driven by a mission to create a financial system where responsibility is rewarded, transparency is standard, and long-term dignity replaces short-term leverage. Through strategic partnerships with sponsor banks, infrastructure providers, and community institutions, he is laying the groundwork for a platform designed not just as a product, but as a foundation for future generations.

Criterion is the first step in that vision.
